AviClear

Clearer Skin Starts Here – The Next Generation in Acne Treatment
Struggling with acne can feel overwhelming, but AviClear, the first TGA-approved acne laser, is designed specifically to target and treat active acne at its root. Unlike traditional acne treatments, AviClear uses a revolutionary laser technology to target the sebaceous glands, reducing excess oil production—the primary cause of acne. This non-invasive treatment is safe for all skin types, with little to no downtime, and provides lasting results by addressing acne at its source. Dr Matulich and her team offer AviClear as part of a personalised approach to help patients of all ages achieve smoother, clearer, and healthier skin.

PRE AND POST TREATMENT CARE
- Avoid Active Skincare Products: Refrain from using retinoids, alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs), beta hydroxy acids (BHAs), or any exfoliating products that could increase skin sensitivity.
- Limit Sun Exposure: Avoid direct sun exposure and do not use tanning beds. Sunburned skin cannot be treated, so protect your skin with broad-spectrum sunscreen if outdoors.
- Hydrate: Drink plenty of water to keep your skin well-hydrated and prepare it for treatment.
- Clean Skin: Arrive with a freshly cleansed face free of makeup, lotion, sunscreen, or other skincare products.
- Avoid Caffeine and Exercise: Minimise caffeine and exercise on the day of treatment to reduce redness and sensitivity.
- What to Expect: During the session, you may feel a gentle warming sensation as the laser targets sebaceous glands, but the treatment is generally comfortable and quick, lasting about 30 minutes.
- Redness and Sensitivity: Mild redness or sensitivity is normal and usually fades within a few hours. Use a gentle, hydrating cleanser and avoid hot water or any exfoliating products.
- Moisturise: Apply a gentle, non-comedogenic moisturiser to keep the skin hydrated, and avoid harsh ingredients or active skincare products for at least 48 hours.
- Sunscreen: Protect your skin with a broad-spectrum sunscreen of SPF 30 or higher. Avoid direct sun exposure to prevent irritation and optimise results.
- Avoid Makeup for 24 Hours: If possible, avoid wearing makeup for 24 hours to allow your skin time to breathe and recover.
- Stay Hydrated: Continue to drink water to keep your skin well-hydrated and support the healing process.
